Luke Mann recently attacked “AI ethics” in general, or guidelines, principles, codes of ethics, ethical frameworks. Specifically, he argued that ethical guidelines are useless. This article responds to these criticisms by arguing that Munn’s criticisms are largely unfair and misguided, and that his own proposal has already been implemented in various guidelines.
